Stage show 'Magic of the Middle Ages'

podium

A beautiful medieval stage as the focal point for a real medieval show with enchanting light and sound! All you have to do is provide seats (and of course an audience!)

In this theatre show Jannes talks about how he learned magic. We see invisible medieval playing cards and a fairy from the audience magically teaches us to be satisfied with what we have achieved.
And of course a lot of medival magic
A real theatre show for young and old with a lot of interaction.

This family show has been specially developed for schools, community centres, museums etc.
But also at medieval events the show can be performed if there is a (preferably darkened) interior space available.
A monastery attic or a castle cellar are particularly suitable.

The show makes (invisible) use of light and sound techniques and thus gets a theatrical dimension in which various atmospheres can be evoked.
Because Jannes has developed its own technical system, Jannes invisible controls the light and the sound himself during the show. So there is no (expensive) technician needed and yet there is beautiful theater light and sound complete with scene changes. Sound and light are of very high quality and use the most modern techniques. For example, LED lighting is concealed in the stage, which can subtly illuminate the backdrop in different colours.

In the performance one hears exclusively the beautiful medieval music of:

Even the sound boxes are beautiful and completely designed in wood so that they do not detonate and immediately set the right tone.

In consultation (and in case of longer use at extra cost) the stage with light and sound (operated by Jannes) can also be used for announcements and other acts.

The maximum capacity per show is 200 persons, the show lasts about 30 minutes and can be shown several times.

Both 14th and 15th century clothing is possible for this performance.

Practical information:

Accessibility:
The location must be easily accessible by a small van for assembly and disassembly.

Brief help with loading and unloading is very welcome and may even be necessary in less accessible places.

Show room:
Preferably (because of the light effects and atmosphere) a darkened room.
(Jannes is happy to give advice on the optimal layout of the space, for example by means of a few photos)

Stage:
The stage is approx. 1.60 m wide, approx. 1.40 m deep and 50 cm high.
The (fire retardant impregnated) backdrop has a total height of 2.65 m.
The client is aware of the dimensions and checks beforehand whether the stage fits in the room.
If in doubt, contact Jannes.

Power:
A normal 230V power supply within 5 meters of the stage.

Technical space:
It's nice if there's room behind the stage to put the technique out of sight.
75 cm free space (between backdrop and wall) is sufficient.
If this is not the case, the technique will be set up elsewhere (e.g. next to the stage).

Seats:
The audience has to sit in front of the stage (the show is not visible from the side).
Of course chairs or (folding) benches are suitable as seats.
Preferably no seats on the ground (children sitting on the ground are more likely to be distracted, if necessary take care of seat mats oid as a clear seat).
The first 1.5 m from the front of the stage should remain free as walking space. The audience can sit up to 10 - 12 meters from the stage.
An 'aisle' in the middle is preferable because of the interaction with the audience.

The maximum capacity strongly depends on the seats and the type of audience but is usually 150-200 people.
If the rear rows can be higher (for example on stage parts or on a grandstand) 200 men can easily be reached.
Jannes will evaluate the public places on the spot and, if necessary, adjust them in consultation.

Construction time:
Take into account that Jannes has a total assembly and changing time of 3 hours! (arrival Jannes to start first show)
